If you have one day off in Salamanca, you are running out of ideas after having toured extensively the town, there is only one valid plan: get yourself out to the "sierra". Salamanca backcountry cannot be missed!
This is a day tour with a strong natural and cultural dimension. Wildlifers proposes a guided visit to the traditional sierra villages of Old Castille, this is a journey centered around the beauty and authenticity of an almost tourist free area of the southerm part of Salamanca province, bordering with Extremadura region.
We will cross the typical fighting bulls breeding environment of Salamanca, a typical landscape of dehesas, characterised by pasture land with wide extensions oh holm oaks and cork oaks and where an abundant and special fauna attract our attention in a special way. This surrounding is right outside Salamanca and is known as the Campo Charro.
The tour then heads towards the sierra through more scenic roads and let us discover the breathtaking natural park of Las Batuecas and Sierra de Francia.
We will arrange a brief visit in in the most representative traditional villages of the sierra:
Miranda del Castañar, La Alberca, Mogarraz
